Amidst the shadows of Richmond, Virginia, the sudden disappearance of a popular teen drives a group of friends to unravel the chilling legacy of a family that has plagued the area for centuries.

This is our story.
Developed and filmed over three years, the world of The Taylows is set in Virginia and revealed through the eyes of its community. From the screenwriting to the acting and filmmaking, the shadow of the South's dark history shapes a lived experience.
Our Impact
Engages a diverse, collaborative, and multigenerational cast and production team
Over 95 percent of the cast/crew based in Virginia
Involves more than 80 artists, with over 50 being youth and young adults
Opens doors for (or creates) paid workforce development opportunities for youth and young adults
Provides meaningful long-term project-based learning opportunities for students
Originates from a female-led production company
Greatly benefits the local economy and tourism

A portion of the proceeds from The Taylows will be dedicated to the following causes, ensuring our film raises awareness, inspires important conversations, and honors our heritage:
Restoration of the South’s African burial grounds, especially those on former plantations
Mental health services for teens
