Update from Cadence about Our Season
Dear Cadence Friends,
Because your health and safety, and that of our Cadence team members, is our number one priority, Cadence Theatre Company’s doors remain closed in accordance with guidelines from the Governor’s Office and those of the CDC.
Because we are artists and value engagement, we are pursuing ways to continue our run, to connect despite physical distance, and to reopen when it’s safe to do so.
In that spirit, I am pleased to announce the following:
Cadence Theatre Company will continue its critically acclaimed run of Bess Wohl's Small Mouth Sounds in our 2020-21 season, which will open this fall. We will add Sam Shepard's True West to the 2020-21 season as well. Once we solidify dates with Virginia Rep, our producing partner, we will connect with you about moving your current reservations.
For our students enrolled in the Summer Showtime production of David Lindsay-Abaire's Snow Angel and Jammin' in July's Annie Jr. and Disney's High School Musical Jr., it is our intention to offer this camp and performance opportunity during the scheduled dates of late July/early August. As always, we will keep you informed of any changes as we follow prescribed guidelines.
Cadence’s education and outreach programs are on! During this time of school closure, the need for meaningful interaction with students has increased. TRAIN students are continuing the study of their acting craft via online instruction, 4th Wall students are engaging with us through online correspondence, and STAGE WRITE leadership and workforce readiness students are preparing to showcase their year-long work online. Stay tuned for details.
For our entire Cadence family, please connect with us via our social media channels — Facebook and Instagram — and through our website, www.cadencetheatre.org, where you will find our most up-to-date announcements.
We are inspired by your resilient spirit and generosity during this difficult and uncertain time.
I can’t thank you enough for your continued support as we continue to brave the unknown together with open minds, open hearts, and virtual open arms.
More than anything, I hope you are safe and well.
Warmest regards,
Anna Johnson
