Sessions & Instructors

Conscious Comedy with Michael Boothby
Saturday, 9/14 2-4pm

Conscious Comedy aims to help adults rediscover their inner “creative genius” through breathwork, movement and space exercises, and improvisational theater games. I believe Creativity and Love are infinite resources that have the power to transform both the individual and the world. I will teach you how to cultivate both, so you may empower yourself, your friends, family, and community. For this workshop, you will want to bring a bottle of water, a yoga mat, a pillow, and a blanket. No prior experience with breathwork is required.

Michael Boothby is a Creative Empowerment Guide and Transformational Breathwork Facilitator located in Richmond, VA. The founder of Lovewise Media and Michael Boothby Creative, he is a champion of creativity and personal liberation, weaving his diverse experiences in writing, music, comedy, breathwork, Human Design, Tarot, and Classical Greek Mythology into his work. Michael's journey, from his Florida roots to global explorations, fuels his passion for inspiring radical authenticity and empowering individuals to embrace and boldy express their inner creative genius. His mission is to ignite change and unity by connecting ancient wisdom with contemporary creativity, guiding others towards self-discovery, healing, and wholeness.

Breathe and Stretch: Yoga with Katrinah Carol Lewis
Saturday, 10/12 2-4pm

This all-levels yoga class is an invitation to settle into and care for one of the greatest gifts we have been given. Our body. Linking body and breath with intention and care we will invite a sense of mindful relaxation and playful exploration as we move through a fusion of yin yoga and vinyasa flow yoga followed by deep relaxation and meditation. Come prepared to breathe, stretch, sweat, and rest. Please bring an open heart and mind, a yoga mat, water bottle, and a yoga block (optional). Please remove your shoes and silence your cell phone.

Katrinah Carol Lewis is an actress, singer, director, educator, playwright and artistic director blissfully fulfilling her life mission of creating compelling theatre in service of a more empathetic world. She has been a committed practitioner of yoga for 20 years. Her approach to her work on and off the stage is informed and guided by her yoga and spiritual practice which includes mindfulness, meditation, asana (poses), breathwork, intention setting, deep listening, service, gratitude, and energy work. In 2018 she traveled to Costa Rica to study yoga with Sacred Paths Yoga (RYS 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training) to deepen her personal practice and gain tools to skillfully share it with friends and colleagues. With gratitude, namaste.

Movement Inquiry with Anna Starnes Blair
Saturday, 11/9 2-4pm

Largely influenced by the art of Continuum Movement, this class offering invites us to slow things down a bit and "play in the ocean of being human" (Cory Blake). We will allow our insides to drive as we explore breath, movement, and sound in a way that reflects our organic, fluid nature. Beneath the noise of thought and wave of emotion, there is a steady pulse of aliveness-- gently and mysteriously unfolding. Come check it out! What to Bring: comfortable clothing & curiosity!

Anna Starnes Blair is an actress, teacher, and mother of two. She loves opportunities to shed her "to-do" list skin and drop into the moment, into her body. Anna has been practicing meditation and Continuum Movement since 2010 and recently completed three years of training in the Hakomi method of psychotherapy. Anna has a background in dance, vocal performance, and musical theater. Last fall, she had the absolute pleasure of performing in The Thanksgiving Play with Cadence!

Vibrate Higher: Breathwork and Sound Bath with Jim Morgan
Saturday, 11/23 2-4pm

We will learn basic tenants of breathwork and some strategies that can calm and soothe the central nervous system. Then we will take a meditative journey using sound waves produced by singing bowls, chimes, percussion, and other instruments. Using frequency and vibration, a "sound bath" allows the listener to simply be present (seated or reclined), focus on breath, and clear the mind. It is an invitation to tune in to our deeper selves. You may enjoy the sound bath seated or reclined. If you choose to recline during the sound bath, please bring a yoga/pilates mat or cushioned surface. You may also want to bring a small pillow and blanket. Some people also enjoy a sleep mask for their eyes.

Jim Morgan affectionately refers to himself as "Jim of all trades, master of none." He has performed on local stages for over 35 years and completed 18 years in education. Throughout his life, he seeks to serve others in mind, body, and spirit. He is a licensed cosmetologist and massage therapist. He is also a certified personal trainer, yoga instructor, reiki, and sound healer. He is embarking on his new business, JIMpowered, which seeks to empower others to find Joy/Inspiration/Motivation in their daily lives.
