Jammin’ in July Summer Musicals at Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School Announced:

Disney’s 101 Dalmatians Kids and Roald Dahl’s Matilda JR, July 11-22, 2022

Summer's right around the corner, and this year, kids from around the city will be able to join Cadence at Maggie L. Walker Governor's school for two fun-filled weeks in July! Cadence is thrilled to announce Disney's 101 Dalmatians Kids, the classic animated tale of kidnapping villains and courageous puppies, adapted in this "fur-tastic" musical adventure! This program will have two casts and serve children ages 4 through rising 4th graders.

Rising 5th—rising 8th graders will rise up to join the revolt in Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical, JR, Music Theatre International's Broadway Junior adaptation of the Tony Award-winning hit!

All students will enjoy in-person courses in acting, singing, dancing, and art over the course of two weeks, culminating in a final performance for families and friends! 

The full-day program (9 am-3 pm) accommodates rising 1st through rising eighth-graders, with a cost of $650. The half-day program (only offering Disney's 101 Dalmatians Kids from 9 am-11:45 pm) serves ages 4-5 only, costing $275. Children ages 4-5 may not participate in the full-day program. Space is limited!

Plays and musicals for teens will be announced on November 29th, so stay tuned!

2021-2022 rehearsals and productions, including venues/locations, mask-wearing, and social distancing requirements, etc. are subject to reevaluation based on changes in the COVID-19 pandemic.
