Cadence Theatre Company in partnership with Virginia Repertory Theatre presents the Virginia Premiere of Sons of the Prophet

Richmond, VA--Cadence Theatre Company in partnership with Virginia Repertory Theatre proudly presents the Virginia premiere of Sons of the Prophet, by Stephen Karam. Sons of the Prophet runs February 14-March 9, 2013 in association with the Annual Acts of Faith Festival, with an Acts of Faith Post-Show Discussion Sunday, March 3rd.

In this dark comedy, Joseph is a young Lebanese-American living in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. With a frustrating job, unexplained chronic pain and a crisis at home, his health, sanity, and insurance premium are on the line. In an age when modern medicine has a cure for just about everything, Sons of the Prophet is a refreshingly honest—and painfully funny—take on how we cope with wounds that won’t heal.

Sons of the Prophet is a 2012 Pulitzer Prize Finalist and winner of the 2012 Lucille Lortel Award, 2012 Theatre World Award, 2012 Outer Critics Circle Award and the 2012 Drama Desk Award. The play is directed by Anna Johnson, and stars RTCC Award Winners Melissa Johnston Price, Alan Sader and Ryan Bechard. Sons...also features Evan Nasteff, D J Cummings, Jacqueline Jones, Kimberly Jones-Clark, and Marquis Hazelwood. Scenic Design is by Terrie Powers, Lighting Design is by Brian Barker, Costume Design is by Lynn West and Sound Design is by Andrew Hamm.
