The creative and design team will include Brian Barker (Scenic Design), K. Jenna Ferree (Lighting Design), Holly Sullivan (Costume Design), Adam Dorland (Scenic Artist), Kevin Johnson (Properties Design) and Aaron Orensky (Fight Choreography).
The Pillowman’s production team will include Melissa Rayford (Stage Management and Assistant Direction) and Matthew Landwehr (Production Management and Technical Direction).
With echoes of Stoppard, Kafka, and the Brothers Grimm, McDonagh’s dark comedy, The Pillowman centers on a writer in an unnamed totalitarian state who is being interrogated about the content of his short stories. The result is an urgent work of theatrical bravura and an unflinching examination of the very nature and purpose of art.
"A complex tale about life and art, about fact and illusion, about politics, society, cruelty and creativity." — Financial Times
